Tex Kelly, videography for Ferndale, California

Hi. I'm Tex.

Welcome to cinematic film, Ferndale edition.

I'm a North Coast filmmaker and photographer, voted Humboldt County's Best. Cinematic videography in Ferndale runs across brand films, commercial work, event coverage, real estate cinematic tours, and the kind of editorial documentary that lifts a business above generic iPhone-tier video.

My job is to put you, your business, or your story in front of the same broadcast-grade cinema and FAA Part 107 drone aerial that's built a personal channel to a billion-plus views, and to do it in Ferndale the way the city actually looks, not a generic stock-video version of it.

Now booking Ferndale commercial brand films and event coverage.

A note from Ferndale

Cinematic videography in Ferndale, California, broadcast-grade cinema and FAA Part 107 drone aerial across the Victorian Village Main Street, Russ Park bluffs, and the Eel River dairy bottoms. Brand films, wedding cinematography, and editorial documentary work in Humboldt County's most architecturally preserved small town.

The Approach

Cinema in Ferndale. Made for this place.

The Ferndale location

Ferndale on camera, shot with intent.

Ferndale video work splits between wedding films at the Victorian inns and bandstand (locals and destination couples both), brand cinematography for the Main Street businesses, and documentary editorial for the dairy industry that defines the surrounding bottoms. The combination of vintage architecture and open pastoral wide shots gives every Ferndale film a unique opening sequence, drone aerial over Main Street, then a slow push into a tasting room or a dairy operation.

Broadcast cinema + drone aerial.

The Ferndale production

Broadcast cinema. Drone aerial integrated.

A Ferndale shoot day usually starts before the Main Street shops open, when the Victorian fronts catch flat morning light and the street is empty. We run broadcast-grade cinema bodies with lav and boom audio so dialogue stays clean inside the smaller tasting rooms. The Part 107 drone goes up for the opening sweep over the district when the wind off the bottoms allows. You get a color-graded film plus clean selects.

The Ferndale hometown advantage

Local to Ferndale. Scouted for years.

Most of the advantage here is knowing the order to shoot in. The dairy bottoms south of town hold ground fog later than Main Street does, so we pull the sunrise milk-can B-roll first and move into town once it lifts. Russ Park sits high enough to establish the whole Eel River valley, but the ridge trail is shaded by afternoon. We plan around that light, not against it.

DaVinci Resolve wedding-film edit in progress. Tex Kelly Productions editing suite

The Editing Process

Months in the edit suite, curating the story.

A wedding film isn't shot in a day, it's made over months. Hours of raw cinema footage, multi-camera audio, drone aerial, and second-shooter coverage get assembled, color-graded, and scored frame by frame in the edit suite.

Every transition is intentional. Every cut earns its keep. The goal is a film couples actually want to re-watch, not a montage of clips. That kind of editorial discipline is the difference between a wedding film and a wedding highlight reel, and it's why these turnarounds run weeks instead of days.

Videographer in Ferndale. FAQs

Frequently asked questions.

  • Can you film a wedding at the Ferndale Victorian Inn or the bandstand?
Yes. Ferndale wedding films are a regular booking. The Victorian Inn for indoor-reception cinematic; Russ Park bandstand for outdoor ceremony with the Eel River bottoms behind. Broadcast-grade cinema + drone aerial for the Main Street establishing sequence + dedicated wireless audio for vows.
  • Do you produce brand films for Ferndale Main Street businesses?
Yes. Main Street shop and inn brand films are part of the standing Ferndale practice. A typical shoot is a half-day at the property + Main Street walking B-roll + a 60-90 second cinematic edit. We pair Ferndale brand work with Loleta or Fortuna for variety when the campaign calls for broader Eel River corridor coverage.
  • What kind of videography do you do?
Wedding films, brand campaigns, sports videography, event coverage, real estate cinematic tours, drone aerials, and editorial documentary work. broadcast-grade cinema, broadcast-grade 4K. Same eye that built a 1B+ view personal channel.
  • What's a typical wedding film deliverable?
A 4–6 minute cinematic highlight film, plus a longer feature edit (15–30 min) covering ceremony and reception. Optional add-ons: same-day reception edit, social-cut versions for posting, raw footage handoff. All delivered as broadcast-quality MP4 plus a private gallery for sharing.
  • Do you do brand and commercial video?
Yes, and it's a fast-growing part of the work. Tex has produced commercial content for North Coast brands across hospitality, retail, professional services, and lifestyle. The same cinematic eye that runs the wedding cameras runs brand campaigns. Pre-production planning, on-location shoots, and full post-production in-house.
  • Can you cover live events and sports?
