Video Editing · Prescott Valley, Arizona
Video editing.
You have the footage. Get back a film. Editorial, color, sound, and social cuts from a filmmaker whose work has been watched over a billion times.
Most businesses do not have a footage problem. They have a folder of clips from the last two years and no time to turn any of it into something people would watch. That is an editing problem, and it is fixable without another shoot day.
Editing is where I learned the job. Before the cinema cameras and the commercials, there was a channel, a laptop, and a decade of cutting things and watching, in real numbers, where people clicked away. A billion views later, that instinct is what I bring to your footage. Where the cut goes, what gets dropped, and how long anything can run before it loses the room.
The work ranges from a batch of vertical clips for a business that shot its own content, to full commercial finishing, to overflow edits for other videographers who are behind, to boxes of family tape that deserve better than a shelf.
Based in Prescott Valley. Editing is the one service here that does not need me on site, so footage comes in from everywhere.
From a folder of clips to a finished film.
Six kinds of editing job. They share the same standard, which is that the finished piece has to hold someone who did not have to watch it.

01
Social Cuts From Your Footage
You shot the event, the job site, the product, the day. Send the footage and get back a set of vertical 15 to 60 second edits, captioned and cut to hold attention on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.
-
02
Long-Form & YouTube
Podcasts, vlogs, tutorials, and talks edited for retention. Pacing, cut-downs, chapter structure, graphics, and thumbnails from someone who built a channel to 100,000 subscribers and a Silver Creator Award.
-
03
Commercial & Brand Edit
You have the raw footage from a shoot and no edit, or an edit that is not working. A fresh cut, color, and sound mix that turns a folder of clips into a film that sells something.
-
04
Color & Sound Finishing
Your edit is locked and it looks flat or sounds thin. Color grading in DaVinci Resolve, dialogue cleanup, music and sound design, and a broadcast-safe mix. Finishing only, your cut stays your cut.
-
05
Overflow Editing for Videographers
For other shooters who are behind. Wedding films, real estate tours, and brand pieces edited to your style guide and delivered under your name. Quiet, reliable, and nobody has to know.
-
06
Family Archive Edits
Boxes of VHS, camcorder tapes, and phone videos digitized and cut into something the family will actually watch. A wedding from 1987, a childhood, a grandparent's voice, organized and preserved.
Need the footage shot as well? That is the full-service production page, where the edit is included.
Cut by someone who watches the numbers.
An editor who has never had to hold an audience edits for the client in the room. An editor who has watched retention graphs for ten years edits for the stranger on a phone. The second one is who you want.
-
Edited for attention, not for length, a billion views is a decade of learning where people stop watching, and every cut is made with that in mind.
-
Full finishing in-house, editorial, color in DaVinci Resolve, sound design and mix, motion graphics, captions, and licensed music.
-
Every format from one edit, horizontal master, vertical cuts, square, and captioned versions delivered together.
-
Your footage, any camera, phone, mirrorless, cinema, drone, GoPro, screen recordings, and old tape all cut together cleanly.
-
Licensed music only, so nothing gets muted or pulled down after it is posted.
-
Files you own, delivered to download and keep, with project files available if you want to take the edit elsewhere later.
Five steps, brief to delivery.
The brief sets the scope, the number, and the date. Two rounds of revisions are built in. Nothing about the process is a surprise.
-
The brief
What the video is for, where it runs, how long it should be, and what it has to make someone do. Reference examples help. Scope and number get set here.
-
Footage hand-off
Upload to a shared drive or ship a hard drive. Everything gets organized, backed up, and reviewed before a single cut is made.
-
First cut
A watchable first version with structure, pacing, and rough sound, so the notes are about the story rather than the polish.
-
Revisions
Two rounds are built into every scope. Notes go in a timestamped list and come back as a fresh cut.
-
Finish and deliver
Color, sound mix, graphics, captions, then every format you need. Turnaround is set in the brief and hit.
Editing is scoped per job or on a monthly retainer for businesses that produce content every week. Either way, you have the number in writing before the footage is opened.
Video Editing · FAQs
Questions worth asking.
-
What does editing cost?
It is scoped by the job. A batch of social cuts from one shoot is the simplest version. A full commercial edit with color, sound, and graphics is a different scope, and a monthly retainer for ongoing content is different again. Every job gets a written scope and a fixed number before the footage is opened. -
How do I send you footage?
For most jobs, a shared cloud folder is enough. For large projects and archives, a hard drive shipped or dropped off in Prescott Valley is faster and safer. Old VHS and camcorder tapes get digitized here and returned with the files. -
How fast is turnaround?
Social cuts from a single shoot usually deliver within a week. A brand film or commercial edit runs two to four weeks depending on length and finishing. Rush turnaround is available and priced in the scope. The date is set in the brief and hit. -
Do you edit for other videographers?
Yes, and quietly. Overflow editing is delivered under your name, to your style, with your LUTs and templates if you have them. Nobody sees the work but you and your client. -
Can you fix footage that was shot badly?
Often, within limits. Underexposed and flat footage can usually be recovered in the grade. Shaky footage can be stabilized. Bad audio is the hardest problem, but dialogue cleanup and a careful mix recover more than most people expect. I will tell you honestly what can be saved before you pay for the attempt. -
Do you have to be local?
No. Editing is the one service on this site that works from anywhere. Most editing clients are in Prescott, Prescott Valley, and the rest of Yavapai County, but footage arrives from all over and the work is the same.
