Case Study
Scoop & Skedaddle. Brand photography and video for a Prescott Valley business.
A locally owned pet waste removal company with a wrapped fleet and a sense of humor. One shoot, under three hours, and a library of photos and video to pull from for months.
The Brief
Brand photography with the real crew. No stock photos.
Scoop & Skedaddle is a locally owned pet waste removal company in Prescott Valley. They clean up backyards for homeowners, keep commercial properties clear, and muck out horse stalls and paddocks. It's honest work, and they're proud of it.
They found me through this site. They wanted fresh photos and video for social media and advertising, and a way to keep that library current through the year. My job was to show the people, the fleet, and the work in a way that feels like them.

The Tone
They have fun with it. So we did too.
"Making your day less crappy."
That line told me how to shoot this. Nothing stiff, and nothing staged to look more serious than it is.
So out at the horse paddock, a forkful went up in the air and I kept shooting. It's the whole brand in one picture: people who do a dirty job well and don't mind laughing about it.
Part One
The crew and the fleet.
We started with the people. A full team portrait in front of the wrapped cars, then each person on their own, so every post and every ad can have a face on it. After that we let them be themselves.
Six on the crew, each photographed on their own.
Part Two
Horse properties.
They also clean stalls, corrals, and paddocks. We photographed that side of the business while the work was happening: mucking, scrubbing stock tanks, moving horses, and running the ATV across the pasture. A barn door makes a good frame, so I used it.
Part Three
Backyards and dogs.
Most of the work happens in a backyard, with a dog watching. We followed a yard visit from the cleanup to the rinse, and made time for the part a customer cares about most: how the crew is with their dogs.
The Films
Three cuts, from the same shoot.
Video was shot alongside the stills, so the photos and the films look like they belong together.
The brand film
A 68-second piece cut for their website. An aerial opening, a backyard visit, the horse properties, and the crew.
Horse properties
A 39-second spot on the equine side of the business.
The slow-motion walk
A nine-second logo reveal made for social.
What They Left With
A library, not a handful of pictures.
-
90-plus edited photographs
Team, portraits, horse properties, and backyards. Enough to post for months without repeating a picture.
-
Six short videos
A brand film for their website, a horse-property spot, and short cuts made for social.
-
A portrait of every crew member
So the person who shows up at the gate is someone the customer has already seen.
-
A private online gallery
Everything in one place, ready to download at full size.
A small business doesn't need a big production. It needs honest pictures of the people who show up. I'm thankful this crew let me take theirs.
