Tex Kelly, senior portraits for Camp Verde, Arizona

Hi. I'm Tex.

Welcome to senior season, Camp Verde edition.

I'm a North Coast filmmaker and photographer, voted Humboldt County's Best. Senior portraits in Camp Verde are some of my favorite sessions of the year, your hometown deserves a senior shoot that actually looks like Camp Verde, not a generic studio backdrop you could be anywhere.

My job is to make you (or your senior) feel completely comfortable, then put you in front of the most cinematic light Camp Verde and the surrounding Yavapai County have to offer. No stiff poses. No fake smiles. Just real, beautiful, intentional portraits worth printing big.

Now booking the Class of 2027 in Camp Verde.

A note from Camp Verde

Cinematic senior portrait sessions in Camp Verde, Arizona — Fort Verde State Historic Park, the Verde River, Out of Africa Wildlife Park, and Verde Valley pastoral backdrops. Camp Verde High School students booked regularly.

The Approach

Senior portraits in Camp Verde. Made for this place.

The Camp Verde location

Camp Verde backdrops, picked on purpose.

Camp Verde senior portraits center on the Verde Valley — Fort Verde State Historic Park for living-history backdrops, the Verde River corridor for riparian green-meadow sessions, and the wide-open ranch country surrounding town. Just 20 minutes from Sedona’s red rocks, so half-day epic sessions can combine Camp Verde + Sedona for a distinctive Northern Arizona portrait spread.

The Camp Verde session

No stiff poses. No fake smiles.

Camp Verde High Cowboys senior portraits anchor the Verde Valley calendar. Standard 60-minute sessions cover Fort Verde + Verde River + one personal-meaning location. Half-day epic upgrades add a Sedona red rock stop (20 minutes north) for a distinctive Verde-Valley-plus-Sedona spread. Yearbook-deadline turnarounds prioritized; print-quality files in publisher dimensions delivered in 2-3 weeks.

The Yavapai County scouting advantage

Built for Camp Verde. Scouted for years.

Camp Verde is the underrated Verde Valley senior portrait town — most Yavapai families default to Sedona for the red rocks or Prescott for the historic feel, but Camp Verde delivers Fort Verde's living-history backdrop, the Verde River's riparian green that no other Yavapai town has, and an uncrowded shoot environment without Sedona's permit complexity. Knowing Camp Verde means knowing which Fort Verde building wall catches the best afternoon light, which Verde River pullout has the deepest green moss in spring, and which surrounding ranch backdrops are accessible by appointment.

The Editing Process

Months in the edit suite, curating the story.

A wedding film isn't shot in a day, it's made over months. Hours of raw cinema footage, multi-camera audio, drone aerial, and second-shooter coverage get assembled, color-graded, and scored frame by frame in the edit suite.

Every transition is intentional. Every cut earns its keep. The goal is a film couples actually want to re-watch, not a montage of clips. That kind of editorial discipline is the difference between a wedding film and a wedding highlight reel, and it's why these turnarounds run weeks instead of days.

Senior Portrait Photographer in Camp Verde. FAQs

Frequently asked questions.

  • Do you shoot Camp Verde High School senior portraits?
Yes — Camp Verde High is a regular Verde Valley booking. Standard 60-minute session, 2-3 outfit + location changes. Yearbook-deadline turnaround prioritized.
  • Can we combine Camp Verde with a Sedona session?
Yes — Camp Verde is 20 minutes from Sedona, so a half-day epic session combining both is a popular request. Camp Verde for the Verde Valley pastoral + Verde River + Fort Verde backdrops, then Sedona red rocks for the destination shot. Permits required for Sedona public-land locations; we handle the pull.
  • How long is a senior portrait session?
Standard sessions run 60 minutes to 2 hours, including 1–3 location changes and 2–3 outfit changes. Longer 'epic' sessions (half-day) are available for seniors who want to capture multiple settings, a redwood look, a coastal look, and a hometown look, across one production day.
  • Where do you shoot senior portraits?
Anywhere on the North Coast that means something to you. Common locations include Sequoia Park, Trinidad State Beach, Patrick's Point, Founders Grove, Halvorsen Park, downtown Eureka, the Avenue of the Giants, and the Lost Coast. Indoor sessions are available at our Eureka studio.
  • When should we schedule?
Senior portrait season peaks late summer through early fall (golden hour + fall colors). For best variety, schedule 6–10 weeks before yearbook deadlines. Spring senior sessions for class-of-following-year are also a popular alternative for less crowded locations.
  • What should the senior bring?
2–3 outfits (more for longer sessions), any meaningful props or items (instrument, jersey, pet, vehicle), and snacks/water. Tex sends a full prep guide once we book, including outfit suggestions, location-specific notes, and a timeline for the session day.
  • How long until we get the gallery?
Edited galleries are delivered in 2–3 weeks for standard sessions. Print orders and yearbook-ready files can be expedited if there's a deadline, let Tex know up front.
