If your senior plays a sport, that’s the photo. Not a generic pose against a wall, but a session built around the thing they’ve put four years into. Sports senior pictures in Northern Arizona run the same as any senior session: $450 for one location, $700 for two. Here’s how I shoot them.
Bring the gear
The jersey, the pads, the cleats, the bat, the bow, the boots. Whatever the sport is, the equipment is half the picture. A senior in their game uniform holding the thing they actually compete with looks like a person, not a backdrop. If your athlete plays for Bradshaw Mountain, Prescott High, Chino Valley, or one of the Flagstaff schools, wear the colors. We can mix one set in uniform and one in normal clothes if you book two looks.

Light that holds up
Sports portraits live or die on the light. I shoot them the same way I light a commercial or a brand shoot, so the photo has some weight to it instead of looking like a snapshot in a gym. Outdoors we time it for the back half of the day when the light gets good. Indoors or under stadium lights I bring my own. Either way it should look like the athlete, sharp and clean, not washed out.
Where to shoot an athlete in Northern Arizona
The region gives you real options depending on the sport and the look:
- Granite and water at Watson Lake and the Dells near Prescott, good for almost any sport
- High-desert and ranch country around Prescott Valley and Chino Valley, especially for rodeo, riding, and anything Western
- Glassford Hill and the open ground around Prescott Valley for room and scale
- Pines and high country up around Flagstaff and NAU for the college athletes
A two-location session at $700 lets you pair a uniform set somewhere with scale and a relaxed set somewhere that means something to them.
Rodeo, riding, and the Western stuff
Northern Arizona has a real rodeo and ranch culture, and those make some of the strongest senior photos I take. A horse, a rope, the right hat, open ground behind them. If that’s your senior, bring the animal and the gear and we’ll build the whole session around it.

Book it before the season buries you
Sports seniors are the hardest to schedule because the athlete is already booked solid with their season. Late summer, before fall sports start, is the easiest window. If you want it during the season, reach out early and we’ll find a date between games. Tell me the sport, the school, and roughly when, and we’ll lock it.
Book a senior session
If your athlete is in Prescott, Prescott Valley, Flagstaff, or anywhere in Yavapai or Coconino County, tell me about them and we’ll build the session around their sport. See what it costs, where to shoot, and what to wear.
