Editorial, commercial, and lifestyle photography. Award-winning, FAA Part 107 aerial-capable.
Hi. I'm Tex.
I'm a North Coast filmmaker and photographer, voted Humboldt County's Best. Editorial, commercial, and brand photography in Cottonwood runs across portrait sessions, hospitality and restaurant brand work, real estate listings, and the kind of long-form editorial that turns a small business into a recognizable local brand.
My job is to put you, your team, or your space in front of the most cinematic light Cottonwood and the surrounding Yavapai County have to offer, and to do it in a way that doesn't feel staged. No corporate-stock smiles. No templated compositions. Just real, intentional, editorial photography that reads as a brand asset, not a stock photo.

A note from Cottonwood
Editorial and brand photography in Cottonwood, Arizona, award-winning photography across Old Town Cottonwood, Verde Valley wine country, Tuzigoot National Monument, and the Verde River corridor. Wine-region editorial and small-business brand work in the heart of Yavapai County's growing tourism economy.
The Approach
The Cottonwood location
Cottonwood is the Verde Valley's wine-and-tourism anchor, a Main Street of historic buildings, more than a dozen tasting rooms within walking distance, and the Verde River running just south of town. Most Cottonwood photography is brand work for tasting rooms and Old Town businesses, destination engagement and elopement sessions tied to the Verde Valley wine market, and family portraits for residents who want a stronger backdrop than what's available at the Phoenix end of the Verde River.
The Cottonwood session
A brand shoot in Cottonwood usually starts on the brick storefronts of Old Town's Main Street, where the vintage signage does half the work. We shoot the tasting rooms when they're quiet, before the walk-in crowd fills the patios, then move into the barrel room when the light outside goes flat. Nothing is staged into a pose. We let people pour, talk, and work, and we shoot around that until the real moments land.
The Yavapai County scouting advantage
Knowing the Verde Valley means knowing when each spot turns. Tuzigoot sits high over the river, and the pueblo walls go gold for a short stretch right at sunset. The vineyards read better in fall once the rows turn color than they do under flat summer haze. Old Town faces the morning sun, so the brick warms early. That timing is the difference between a usable frame and a wasted drive.
Now booking, Cottonwood
Cottonwood sessions and brand campaigns book on a rolling calendar, weekday brand work fills first, weekend portrait dates fill around it. Send a note with your timeline and we'll find the right window.

The Editing Process
A wedding film isn't shot in a day, it's made over months. Hours of raw cinema footage, multi-camera audio, drone aerial, and second-shooter coverage get assembled, color-graded, and scored frame by frame in the edit suite.
Every transition is intentional. Every cut earns its keep. The goal is a film couples actually want to re-watch, not a montage of clips. That kind of editorial discipline is the difference between a wedding film and a wedding highlight reel, and it's why these turnarounds run weeks instead of days.
