Cinematic films and editorial photography for weddings.

Tex Kelly, weddings for Scottsdale, Arizona

Hi. I'm Tex.

Welcome to wedding season, Scottsdale edition.

I'm a Prescott Valley-raised filmmaker and photographer, voted Humboldt County's Best. Wedding photography and film in Scottsdale is one of the things this studio does most, full-day photo and film coverage with FAA Part 107 drone aerial, delivered together so couples have one storyteller across every frame of the day.

My job is to make you, your families, and your guests feel completely comfortable so the day stays the day, not a photo shoot. No stiff poses. No staged-looking smiles. Just real, intentional, cinematic coverage of how the day actually unfolds in Scottsdale and across Maricopa County.

A note from Scottsdale

Cinematic wedding films and editorial wedding photography in Scottsdale, Arizona, resort-corridor ceremonies, desert-modern estates, and Sonoran Preserve backdrops, with FAA Part 107 drone aerial. A Prescott Valley native who travels the Valley.

The Approach

Weddings in Scottsdale. Made for this place.

The Scottsdale venue

Scottsdale venues, lit and scouted.

Scottsdale is the Valley's luxury wedding market, the resort corridor along Camelback and up toward Troon, desert-modern estates, and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve for couples who want the raw desert. The resorts on Camelback and the private estates in North Scottsdale carry a look that photographs like nowhere else, and we shoot it with the same eye that runs our wedding films.

The Scottsdale day

Real moments, captured intentionally.

Full photo and film coverage delivered together, drone aerial over the desert and resort grounds where allowed. The low-desert light is the draw, sunset on the McDowells turns everything gold, and we build the timeline around that window.

The Maricopa County scouting advantage

Scottsdale, Scouted for years.

Knowing Scottsdale matters. Regular travel into Maricopa County for weddings over the years means the scouting is already done, ceremony light, reception flow, and which venues photograph well versus the ones that look better on Instagram than in real life. Not a resident, but the regional knowledge is built and ready before the wedding day.

The Editing Process

Months in the edit suite, curating the story.

A wedding film isn't shot in a day, it's made over months. Hours of raw cinema footage, multi-camera audio, drone aerial, and second-shooter coverage get assembled, color-graded, and scored frame by frame in the edit suite.

Every transition is intentional. Every cut earns its keep. The goal is a film couples actually want to re-watch, not a montage of clips. That kind of editorial discipline is the difference between a wedding film and a wedding highlight reel, and it's why these turnarounds run weeks instead of days.

Wedding Photographer & Filmmaker in Scottsdale. FAQs

Frequently asked questions.

  • Do you shoot Scottsdale resort and estate weddings?
Yes, that's the heart of the Scottsdale market. Tex was born and raised in Prescott Valley and travels to Scottsdale regularly; the studio is in Eureka, California, with over 100 five-star Google reviews behind it. Travel and lodging are included in the package, and we coordinate with resort and estate coordinators on timeline and any drone or permit requirements.
  • What's the best light for a Scottsdale wedding?
Sunset over the McDowells and Camelback is the signature Scottsdale moment, so we build the timeline around golden hour. October through April is the comfortable season with the cleanest skies. Summer weddings work early morning or evening, and monsoon-season skies can be spectacular with a backup plan.
  • What does a wedding package include?
Wedding coverage starts with photography or videography and scales up to full-day cinematic films. Most couples book the full photo and film package, cinematic motion plus editorial stills delivered together. Aerial drone coverage is available as an add-on for outdoor venues. Every package includes a planning consultation, day-of coverage, and a fully edited gallery delivered within 6–8 weeks.
  • Do you travel for destination weddings?
Yes. Tex Kelly Productions covers weddings across Yavapai and Coconino Counties. Prescott, Prescott Valley, Sedona, the Verde Valley, Jerome, Flagstaff, and beyond. Sedona red-rock ceremonies and destination elopements are a regular booking, and the studio handles the City of Sedona and Coconino National Forest permits. Travel further across Arizona is routine; international destination weddings are considered case-by-case.
  • How far in advance should we book?
Most Northern Arizona wedding dates book 6–12 months out, and Sedona's peak red-rock seasons (spring and fall) fill earliest. Reach out as soon as you have a date, even if the venue isn't locked in yet. Tex can often hold a tentative date for two weeks while you finalize.
  • What venues have you worked at?
Weddings across Northern Arizona: red-rock ceremonies in Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon, historic vows on Whiskey Row and the Courthouse Plaza in Prescott, granite-and-water portraits at Watson Lake and the Granite Dells, ranch weddings out in Chino Valley, and pine-country ceremonies up around Flagstaff. Send your venue when you reach out and Tex will share work from there if available.
  • Do you do engagement sessions?
Yes, engagement and proposal sessions are a separate service. Most couples who book the wedding film also do a pre-wedding engagement session at a meaningful spot: the red rocks where they got engaged, the Granite Dells at golden hour, or somewhere new together across Yavapai or Coconino County.
  • How do we book?
Send an inquiry through the contact form or call (707) 382-1108. Tex replies within 24 hours with availability and a tailored quote. Once we lock details, a signed agreement and 25% deposit reserves your date. The remainder is due before the wedding day.
